ABOUT US
At Garrett Middle School Band we believe that music connects us all and, for most of us, is an essential part of daily life. Even more importantly, it's fun!! Band meets during connections in the regular school day, and we have a good inventory of school instruments for students to use free of charge. About 70% of Garrett 6th graders sign up for a music class so your child will make lots of friends there. Please explore this site to help your child discover instrument options and get signed up. Music opens up a child's creative possibilities and will make an immeasurable difference in their lives.
I'm a native of Los Angeles, California and received my Instrumental Music Education degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The last 19 of my 35 teaching years have been at Garrett, and I'm happy to call it home.
What We Do
We want YOU to be a part of the Garrett Band! Music is fun and creative, and you can meet all of your friends there! 6th Grade students can choose from Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Trombone for your first year.
